Valentine's In New York

I just got back from my mini Valentine's vacation to NY!  I had such a fun time with my boyfriend and his friends, and wanted to share some of my experiences.

I got to my boyfriends place around 9pm on the 13th, so we didn't really have time to do much.  But, he did surprise me at midnight with an Anniversary/Valentine's day present.  I got the most amazing pair of Prada Baroque Sunglasses that I had been lusting over for quite a while.

On the 14th (Valentine's Day) my boyfriend brought me lunch during the break he had in classes.  We shared a grilled chicken sandwich, chicken soup, a mixed green salad and some delicious macaroons!  In the evening after he got back from class, we decided to see the movie Side Effects.

On Friday the 15th my boyfriend brought me breakfast in bed.  Coffee, banana bread and more macaroons that we both enjoyed later.  After he was done with his class, we drove down to the city to celebrate his friends 30th birthday.  We went out to a few interesting bars and ended the night eating a torta from a street vendor and some of the macaroons from earlier in the day.

On the 16th my boyfriend and I went to enjoy dinner at our favorite ramen noodle restaurant, Ippudo.  Afterwards, we went to celebrate his friends birthday at a dance party in the city.  After getting back home my boyfriend said, "You know you're getting old when you would rather spend your night at home together than to be at a crazy party."

On Sunday the 17th we started the day off with brunch at a restaurant called Isabella's.  We decided to celebrate our Anniversary that night by going out to a nice dinner.  We first started at Ă‰picerie Boulud which is a cute little upscale market where you can enjoy small plates.  After our oyster and charcuterie appetizer platters, we went to Sushi of Gari.  For dinner we enjoyed the most amazing sushi spread either of us has ever had, along with a delicious bottle of Chablis.

On the 18th my boyfriend and I decided to have a casual day and try another ramen noodle restaurant that we had heard very good reviews on.  We enjoyed a quick dinner at Totto Ramen and then went to the Columbus Circle mall for some dessert at the Bouchon Bakery, where we shared some more macaroons (of course) and lattes.

This was definitely one of my favorite trips that I've ever taken to NYC.  My boyfriend and I were able to spend some invaluable time together to celebrate our love for each other.  I cannot wait to go back to visit him and possibly spend more time in the big city!
